During the 2013 and 2017 campaigns and the first term, the president and his deputy were in good terms and even the president publicly promised his deputy support for a two-five year term presidency upon his completion. Since the happening of the handshake their relationship has seemed to be between a rock and a hard place with the president admitting that he has achieved more during his second term than during the first.  The president has been so close to ODM leader Raila Odinga, paying several visits to Nyanza and praising him for the handshake. Recently there has been confusion in the Luhya community which is the second largest tribe with over 6.5 million people on whether it's Musalia Mudavadi or Wycliffe Oparanya their leader. In the previous years ANC party leader has been the leader and spokesperson of the community but in a meeting organized by COTU secretary general on 31st December 2021 saw Wycliffe Oparanya installed as Luhya kingpin by the elders of the community in the absence of ANC party leader. It is alleged that Kenya has only had one free and fair general election that was in 2002. Kenyans have been turning out in large numbers early in the morning previously to vote in leaders who they feel will better their lives. All this has been ending in protests, demonstrations and petitions in courts, with a historical nullification of the 2017 presidential election by Chief justice Maraga filed by NASA. Earlier on in 2018 there was a piling pressure from the opposition on IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati to resign and the commission to be disbanded having lost trust and feeling they cannot deliver free, fair and credible election come August 2022. Few months to the 2022 ballot, some politicians have found it difficult to tame their horses to hate speech. Even as one is arrested another stills spits indecent utterances probably promoting violence and tribalism. This paints a clear picture of how our politics is immature. The same quotes being used currently by some politicians were once used and the results really hurt millions of Kenyans.On the other hand Kenyans seem to forget easily the past. The followers and supporters of the politicians are the ones who suffer whenever political violence arises. Instead of rejecting leaders and politicians who sell hate, fear and tribalism, crowds cheer up in agreement with poisonous utterances. Who bewitched Kenyans?
